Proflow universal cable and brake hose spring kit is used to position the clamp around the hose or cable you want to direct away from rubbing against chassis or suspension components and therefore damage the hose. It still allows the hose to move with the caliper for for full lock turns. Another example would be to use the springs to pull handbrake cables away from mufflers ( Ford did this on XWGT falcons ). These are two examples but many more uses could be found!
